The disengagement methods covered in this course are simple to use, and as safe as possible for both “you” and “your client”. The techniques are easy to use and (in many cases) can be used in a variety of situations. We focus on simple techniques believing that if a move is complicated most staff will not remember how to use it effectively over time.
Although this training is intended for anyone who may face physical aggression form clients it also recognises that many grabs or holds are from clients who just want your attention, have difficulty communicating or have a health condition that gives rise to aggressive behaviour rather than to hurt you.
.
Our techniques are safe and ethical and the course is run in a way that reflects the values of your organisation. Too often we hear of delegates injuring themselves on these courses. With The NNTC the emphasis is on the techniques, we do not use force on our courses and we do not try to create realistic scenarios which we believe is unethical in a safe learning environment.
All these courses are run in an interactive student-centred style with all assurances given to create a safe learning environment. Wherever possible the delegates attention will be directed towards the organisations health & safety policies, this will ensure anyone attending is fully aware of their roles and responsibilities towards creating a safe working environment free from aggression and violence. Please note all our courses are tailored free of charge to your requirements so may vary slightly from the stated aims and outcomes and are run in-house only.
